This system and the vibe is really interesting. Heavy Dark Souls influence, I'm assuming? Enjoyed the narrative greatly. Also liked seeing the rolls, especially once I figured out what the numbers meant.

Hey, Eric! Yes, Dark Souls is the main inspiration for the game, so I went with the same vibe to write the story.

So this is actually the second part! There's a prologue where I reviewed the game and explained some of the rules and rolls. If you want to check it: https://jakezemeckis.substack.com/p/hollow-hike-session-0

Thanks a lot for the comment. I was thinking of removing some of the rolls to make the story flow better, but I think I'll keep them.

Actually read the other post immediately after! Really good set up. Seeing the rolls isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I've been doing this long enough to have quite a bit of feedback saying rolls are better than no rolls.

You really captured that Soul-like vibe with the prose! The gameplay loop seems simple, but very satisfying and I could see there's already some interesting strategy that I haven't seen come up in the Solo-RPG's I've played (Mostly grinding being a feature, not an exploit or a bug haha)
